  Learn to Square Dance   Class on Thursdays at 7:30 PM.

We host one or two Mainstream & Plus dances each month on a Saturday night from October to May. We alternate Squares and Rounds (2+2). Check out our current year calendar for details.

The next dance will be an alternating MS/PLUS level dance in Ellison Hall on Saturday, 19-MAY-2012 with Jim Denigris calling and Harriett Clarke cueing. This is a Tri-club dance co-sponsored by the Square Riggers, the Great Plain Squares, and the Fairs 'n Squares.

The following dance will be our Tri-Club Summer Dance. This is an alternating MS/PLUS level dance in First Parish UU Church, Needham on Saturday, Aug-18 with Steve Park calling and Phil Gatchell cueing. This is a Tri-club dance co-sponsored by the Square Riggers, the Great Plain Squares, and the Fairs 'n Squares.

Our dances are generally located in Ellison Hall, or Scott Hall. These locations are near each other, just off of Edgell Road, 1/4 mile North of Route 9 in Framingham Centre. See our maps page

Beginner Square Dance Classes

The Fairs 'n Squares invites interested newcomers to join our square dances for new beginners on Thursdays, (7:30 to 9:00 PM). This class will introduce you to the Basic and Mainstream level of dancing. Dancers ready for higher level dancing can stay for a Mainstream/Plus workshop starting at 9 PM. Round Dance Classes

Mondays - 7:00 to 10:00 PM

Jo Yakimowski invites interested newcomers to join her Choreographed Ballroom Dance classes staring in Sep-2011 and continuing on Mondays through May-2012. Special Events


Tri Club

Fairs 'n Squares coordinates with two other area clubs: Great Plain Squares of Needham and Square Riggers of Westwood, to promote square dancing in the Metro-West area. We call this effort the Tri-Club. Together the three clubs sponsor four dances a year. In January 2012, we met to co-operatively schedule our dance dates for the 2013-14 dance season.

FNS Scholarship for Framingham area student

The FnS provides a $1,000 per year for up to four years to a worthy area student. In spring-2010, the Fairs 'n Squares selected a new student to receive this honor.

All dancers are welcome to support this scholarship. Our next raffle drawing will be at our dance on Saturday 14-APR-2012. The Fairs 'n Squares accepts tax deductable donations to the scholarship fund. To support the scholarship just send your donation check to the Fairs 'n Squares Scholarship Fund, PO Box 177, Framingham, MA 01704-0177. For additional details on the scholarship fund e-mail our current Scholarship Fund chairpersons. Raffle tickets for our many prizes may be bought at the dance prior to the raffle drawing. For 2012, over 20 gift certificates or prizes will be awarded that are for many restaurants, grocery stores, and other services.

The Fairs 'n Squares expresses its gratitude to the many local businesses that supported our scholarship fund by donating items or services that we can raffle. Many items were provided in prior years such as restaurant meals, shopping gift certificates, tax preparation services, and weekend accommodations. We would like to again thank the many organizations that provided generous support this year. For 2012 the donors include: CJ's Northside Grill, Bella Costa Restaurant, Firefly's BBQ Restaurant, Ken's Steak House, Lotus Flower Chinese Restaurant, LaCantina Restaurant, Longhorn Restaurant, Longfellow's Wayside Inn Restaurant, Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Mel's Commonwealth Cafe, Panera Bread Restaurant, Stephen Anthony's Restaurant, Villa Restaurant, Wildwood Restaurant, Roche Bros Groceries, Whole Foods Groceries, Anton's Cleaners, Royal Cleaners, Garden In The Woods, Mahoney's Garden Center, Russell's Garden Center.
